Acoustic-4-A-Cure IV
Sammy Hagar and James Hetfield today announced the line-up for "Acoustic-4-A-Cure IV," on May 15 at The Fillmore in San Francisco. Artists performing at Acoustic-4-A-Cure IV include (in alphabetical order): Pat Benatar & Neil Giraldo, Don Felder, Mick Fleetwood, Dave Grohl, Sammy Hagar, Vic Johnson, Sarah McLachlan, Steve Vai and Bob Weir.
The 2017 concert blends veterans and newcomers to the event, with Dave Grohl sitting in for James Hetfield, who will be away on tour.
Now in its fourth year, Acoustic-4-A-Cure has quickly become one of the year's hottest tickets, with legendary artists performing acoustic sets, epic collaborations and impromptu jams from the stages of intimate and storied San Francisco venues like The Fillmore. The benefit was created by Bay Area rock legends Sammy Hagar and James Hetfield, whose vision was to raise needed funds and awareness for the pediatric cancer research by throwing a must-see concert for fans and donating all of the proceeds to UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital. In past years, artists including John Mayer, Billie Joe Armstrong, Jerry Cantrell, Melissa Ethridge, Joe Satriani, Pat Monahan, Adam Sandler, Nancy Wilson, Linda Perry, Chad Smith, Vic Johnson, Tommy Lee and Kris Kristoferson have joined Hagar and Hetfield to rock the sold-out benefit concerts.

The Loudwire Music Awards @ The Novo Theater
The Loudwire Music Awards ceremony and concert takes place October 24, 2017 in Los Angeles. Loudwire has been the premier home of hard rock and heavy metal for several years, with its annual online awards beloved by both bands and fans alike. Now, we will be bringing this annual event to life. The 2017 Loudwire Music Awards will take place at the Novo Theater in Downtown Los Angeles and will bring together the biggest names in rock and metal!
Sammy will be presented with the Humanitarian Award for the efforts made under the Hagar Family Foundation, a non-profit organization, created by him and Kari, that aims to get funds and food to charities and those in need as quickly as possible, striving to reduce the amount of red tape throughout the process. Speaking about receiving the Humanitarian Award, Sammy exclaimed, "It's always exciting to receive an award. But this one is extra special. To be recognized for something you truly love doing and in front of an audience of your peers, doesn't get any better than that!" Sammy will be one of three icons to receive a special award, with the Courage Award going to Black Sabbath's Tony Iommi and the Lemmy Award presented to Rob Halford.
Before the ceremony, you have an opportunity to spend some time with Sammy at the Los Angeles Grammy Museum staring at 2:30pm local time. The Hard Rock and Heavy Metal Summit is free, but registration is required on Eventbrite at loudwireawards.com/thesummit and seating is on a first come, first serve basis. Hope to see you there!
