This official music video for “Sam I Am” from the “Livin’ It Up” album was originally released in 2006 and remastered to 4K in 2021 for the 15th anniversary of the album. Audio was updated with the remixed version from Sammy’s 2016 release “This Is Sammy Hagar: When The Party Started, Vol 1″.

Bob Daspit’s remix from scratch started simply as a test mix for a new category of effect plugins for console and tape simulations. “When I finished and listened back I realized it was vastly superior – the drums, the guitar, everything just sounded better and the groove felt deeper. It was really happening so I sent it to Sammy with a note that this is how I wish we could have done it the first time.”

“David Bowie’s ‘Heroes’ is one of my favorite songs ever, and a chance to tip our hat to all those frontline workers on every level from the grocery stores, to the policeman and firefighters, doctors etc. that put their own lives at risk & do their jobs to help others. For us it kind of sums up 2020, the whole year. And to release it so close to his birthday and passing just makes it that more special.” – Sammy
