RIP Liza Cozad-Lauser

I'm very sad to hear about the passing of my dear friend David Lauser's wife, Liza. I've known only a few people in my life who have had to go through a heartbreaking ordeal in their lives with this level of dedication/devotion.

Even when it looked like there was no hope they both kept the faith and the fight. God has and will bless them both I'm sure. Sammy and family.

[Webmaster Note]

As long time Redheads know, Liza was instrumental in early incarnations of Sammy's website and her passion for music and the Redheads was clear to all who came in contact with her.

Feel free to share your condolonces on David's facebook page which you can find at the link below:

Happy New Years from Cabo to Redheads everywhere!

Happy New Year Redheads! Thank you for one of the greatest years of my life and 2015 will be even better – can't wait to see you!

This New Years Event at the Cabo Wabo Cantina in Cabo San Lucas, was HUGELY successful thanks to you guys! We collected over $40,000 from the fans and from the Cantina and the Hagar Family. All of this will be going to a children's charity to benefit Hurrican Odile relief efforts.

The Cantina was packed to the brim and playing with Toby Keith was a perfect way to finish 2014 off. We played classic hits with the house band , Cabo Uno, for over two hours, everything from Toby's and my own career, to other hits from our favorite artists. At midnight everyone sang along to Bob Dylan's classic,  "Rainy Day Women ♯12 & 35". As the night came to an end, we finished up with "Red Solo Cup" as Toby and I passed out Sammy's Beach Bar Rum & Tequila in red solo cups of course! Don Felder even stopped by to hang out and eat some tacos after the show! Overall it was an amazing night and we really helped out a good cause and the people of Cabo San Lucas.

Check out the video below! Here's to 2015 Redheads!!

Sammy swears-in Roseville’s new Mayor!

Roseville Mayor Carol Garcia was sworn in with style Tuesday when rocker Sammy Hagar administered the oath of office at the Roseville Theater.

Garcia, a fifth-generation Roseville native, chose Hagar to swear her in because of his “notable investment” in the revitalization of downtown. In September, the singer reopened his namesake downtown restaurant, Sammy’s Island Bar & Grill, after previous owner Steve Pease died unexpectedly.

“The public sector can’t make these kinds of strides without strong partners in the private sector, and I appreciate how much Sammy has stepped up and believed in what we’re doing in Roseville,” Garcia said in a written statement.

During the ceremony, outgoing Mayor Susan Rohan was sworn in as vice mayor, along with Tim Herman, who was sworn in again as councilman. Both Rohan and Herman won re-election last month.

The Roseville city charter stipulates that the candidate receiving the most votes during the election will serve as vice mayor for the first half of the four-year term and mayor for the second half.
