As seen in the picture, Sammy Hagar, joined by Michael Anthony, Bill Gibbons (ZZ Top), Bob Adams (Ford Motor Co.) and Carol Shelby addressed the crowd during the largest automotive specialty products trade event in the world, the SEMA show in Las Vegas.

Auto fans will be thrilled to know that Sammy’s 1967 Mustang Shelby GT, which was signed by Carol Shelby at this event will be auctioned off at the 2006  Barret- Jackson auction in Scottsale, Arizona this January.

Redhead Report for October 11 2005

Once again the Sammy and the Wabos played to a packed house (and parking lot).  The show was full of old and new songs as well as a guest appearance by Michael Anthony.  The band has never sounded tighter.  They once again opened with the “Soundtrack set” including songs from Footloose, Rock Star, and Heavy Metal.  Fans have been spotted from across the world including Holland, Scotland, Japan, and Australia. The Birthday Bash in full gear……Get ready for Thursday

Los Tres Gusanos sighting….Sammy and company made an unannounced visit to the Cabo Wabo tonight.  Los Tres Gusanos, the original house band of Cabo Wabo who unlike “The Other Half” which plays exclusively Van Halen tunes, “Los Tres Gusanos” plays classic Sammy tunes as well as classic rock cover tunes.  The band is made up of Sammy, Michael Anthony and David Lauser.  Tonight we also saw Vic Johnson and Vinnie Paul sit in with the band as well.  Sammy proudly announced to the crowd that “Los Tres Gusanos” has never rehearsed so get ready for the greatest “Jam” band south of the border.  The show included tunes by The Who, Jeff Beck, Led Zeppelin, and ZZ Top.  During the drum solo on Red, Sammy invited Vinnie Paul to break in and the fans went through the roof.  Vinnie is the newest Wabo Rat, and has vowed to come down next year and stay for the entire bash…..Get ready for the Wabos to tear it up tomorrow

Redhead Report for October 9 2005

Sammy and the Wabos were back on stage at the Cantina again tonight.  The house and parking lot was packed with Redheads.  The show included the debut of “The Other Half” featuring Sammy, Michael Anthony, Vic Johnson and David Lauser.  Sammy announced that “Los Tres Gusanos” features Sammy, Mike and Vic performing some Van Halen as well as classic Rock & Sammy tunes would be playing later in the week.  “The Other Half” is for the purest of Van Halen fans, performing only Van Halen in it’s truest since….no recorded keyboards or backing vocals.  The show started off with the Wabos performing all of their new songs and then, to a thunderous roar, Michael Anthony came to the stage.  “The Other Half” ripped through a dozen or so Van Halen tunes that included Vinnie Paul on drums for the finale…..Running with the Devil and You Really Got Me.  The crowd was blown away….Look for a surprise appearance of Los Tres Gusanos soon!

Redhead Report for October 7 2005

Sammy and the Wabos hit the stage again tonight.  They ran through a slamming set that included new songs, classic Sammy tunes and some Van Halen tunes.  Special Guest drummer Vinnie Paul from Pantera and Damage Plan and guitarist Stevie Salas sat in on the Heavy Metal at the close of the show.  Sammy said that Michael Anthony would be in town for the 9^th and they would play every Van Halen song they know…..Redheads and Van Halen fans should not be disappointed.

Redhead Report From Cabo

Sammy and the Wabos played the first of six shows, officially opening the Birthday Bash.  They screamed through a set that opened with all their movie soundtrack songs (see set list below).  The set included several new tunes and of course the standard hardcore favorites.  The Redheads have landed in Cabo from around the world, the

With the bash officially under way, the Wabos played to a full house again.  The set opened with Red, which included a killer dueling drum solo between David Lauser and Gibby Ross.  The show included some classic hits as well as the soon to be released new songs.  The “Grand Marshal” of the Birthday Bash Stevie Salas is here and has never missed a bash yet.  Stevie will be joining the Wabos to jam in the days to come as well as Michael Anthony, Matt Sorum, Vinnie Paul and many other surprises.

When you come down to the bash this year, pace yourself.

Even the most experienced traveler needs to keep control of Cabo or Cabo may take control of you.  A perfect example is Sammy’s current guitar tech, Kevin Dugan. Kevin has been Michael Anthony’s Bass tech since 1980.

He was the first “real” tech Vic Johnson ever had and has worked for Poison, The Raspberries, Mr. Big, The Cult, Warrant, and probably every hard core partying band out there.  He has been in Cabo since September 22 and on October 2nd was spotted poolside with a Vodka and tonic at 7am.  At 5pm this is the results.  PACE YOURSELF!

Cabo Wabo Beach Report: 

Well as you may or may not know we officially kicked off the ’05 Birthday Bash in true Cabo style.  First of all, hurricane (Bogus) Otis missed us, we got a little wet, but the club was on fire.  On Friday seven bands from around the U.S. competed to open for me & the Wabos on Saturday.  The talent was tough, but Resident Hero from L.A. came out on top.  After they did their set on Saturday they said, ”The Redhead fans were unbelievable, they completely embraced us”.  Look for them in Tahoe soon.

With my feet in the sand and looking out at the clear sky, all I can say is that the storm has passed, the flag is up and we are ready for the best fans in the world to show everyone ”The Way We Live”… Let this bash begin.. ….See ya in Cabo!

Ok, here we go. … A Red Head request for this years bash!

So, on the “Long Road to Cabo” I showed you what it’s like behind the scenes so now I’m asking you to bring your video cameras and show me what goes on behind the scenes in hotel rooms, ticket line, beach, airport, planes, etc. I want your version of the bash.  Use as little footage of the band performing as possible because I’m filming and recording that part.  Get together with each other and put video footage together, edit it to approximately 15 minutes or more if necessary and send it to my editor Paul Ware by mid November so I can put together with my footage and make the “Long Road to Cabo Part 2” for the Wabo’s new cd to be ready for Feb./March 06.  Big bonus time baby come on!  Sounds like fun to me and I can’t wait!

RECORD-BREAKING WEEKEND FOR FOOD AND TEQUILA

3 May 2004 (Lake Tahoe, NV): Sammy Hagar opened up his first stateside Cabo Wabo Cantina in Harveys Resort Casino in Lake Tahoe, Nevada this past weekend.  The Cantina 0fficially opened for business on Friday morning, April 30, 2004.

The 6,000 square foot Cantina restaurant served 3,700 covers over the three-day period, a record amount for a room seating 165 capacity restaurant. A total of 700 cases of Cabo Wabo Tequila were consumed throughout the two properties of Harveys (which houses the Cabo Wabo Cantina restaurant) and Harrah¹s (home to the Cabo Nightclub).

Hagar stated, "Cabo Wabo is a lifestyle fits Tahoe to a T. To be able to swim at the beach, mountain bike, hike, summer and winter ski, snowboard Stake a siesta and rest up for a nightlife that goes all night in the casinos and the various clubs around town. Are you kidding me?"

"I’ve now got Cabo Wabo Cantinas in two of the most beautiful places on earth Cabo San Lucas (in Mexico) and now here in Lake Tahoe."

Sammy and his band The Waboritas performed three sold-out performances Friday the 3th through Sunday, May 2nd. Country superstar Toby Keith, guitarist/vocalist Ted Nugent, the Dead’s Bob Weir, Jerry (Alice in Chains) Cantrell, Billy (The Cult) Duffy, Ronnie Montrose and guitarist Johnny Hiland performed throughout the weekend with Hagar. 

Guest performance highlights with Sammy and the Waboritas included Toby Keith with "I Love This Bar", Ted Nugent, "Cat Scratch Fever", and "Route 66", Jerry Cantrell and Billy Duffy with "Man in the Box" and "Whole Lotta Zep" (a montage of Led Zepplin songs) and Ronnie Montrose, "Rock Candy."

Sunday’s show began with a sit-down acoustic set. Joining Sammy were the Waboritas bassist Mona, percussionist David Lauser and guitarist Vic Johnson along Johnny Hiland. Toby Keith performed "Sweet Home Alabama" and "Can’t You See."  Bob Weir came out and joined for "Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door" and "The Weight". Jerry Cantrell performed "No Excuses" and "Finish What You Started."

The weekend got off to an early start with Ted Nugent performing with The Waboritas for a sold-out show on Thursday (April 30th) evening.

The Cabo Wabo Cantina in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico is now in its 14th year as the most successful restaurant and nightclub in Cabo. Cabo Wabo Tequila is the#2 premium tequila in the United States. The Cabo Wabo Cantina in Harveys Resort Casino in Lake Tahoe, Nevada will be open for lunch and dinner seven days a week, turning over into an intimate nightclub at 10PM each evening.

In addition, the South Shore Room housed in Harrah’s will become the "Tahoe Wabo" performance venue when rock’n roll shows are booked. The first Tahoe Wabo show will be this Wednesday evening, May 5 with the Cardboard Vampyres featuring Jerry Cantrell and Billy Duffy along with Cult bassist Chris Wyse and vocalist John (Motley Crue) Corabi.

Hagar summed up the weekend in the simplest of terms with the most heartfelt of meanings. Looking out over the sold-out crowd on Sunday night, he put hand to  his heart, shook his head and stated, "It doesn’t get any better than this."
