The Island Opening in Roseville!

This past weekend opening up the Island (the new Sammy’s Rockin’ Island Bar & Grill) in Roseville was off the hook! There’s nothing like getting the key to a city and having a day named after you anywhere in the world is fantastic! I love the charm and soul of the old part of downtown and being part of it. Plus, the restaurant looks and sounds phenomenal! We played a set to a thousand Redheads in the bar and out on the streets and it’s the best sounding of all my live music venues. I love the way people are crowded around the stage and stairway – it really feels close and personal.

Next Saturday night (9/22), the Wabos featuring Night Ranger’s Jeff Watson on Guitar and Jesse Bradman on lead vocals will be there and you have just gotta go check it out! The place feels more like an upscale Cabo Wabo than the normal Beach Bar & Grills and when the city’s done with its revitalization plans, they intend for this area to be the town’s living room. Well, then I got the ISLAND! This is for all the Redheads – we actually got our own island to come party on!

With over 100 redheads working there it is very friendly to any of you who pops in – Redheads rule! I’m really happy to give the fan jobs and I know you’re all going to embrace the place.

So let’s bring the party down to the Island – we’ll supply the rum and the music – here we go again!

THOUSANDS OF REDHEADS CELEBRATE SAMMY HAGAR DAY ALONGSIDE THE RED ROCKER AT HIS SOLD-OUT CHARITY CONCERT WITH HIS BAND THE WABOS WHICH RAISED MORE THAN $40,000 FOR LOCAL CHARITIES

LOS ANGELES – September 18, 2012 – Sammy Hagar showed the City of Roseville that there was only one way to rock on Saturday, September 15 as more than a 1,000 Redheads crowded the streets to celebrate Sammy Hagar Day alongside the Red Rocker. Roseville’s Mayor Pauline Roccucci presented Hagar with the Key to the City – in the shape of an electric guitar – in recognition of Hagar’s outstanding contributions to music and to the city’s Downtown Roseville Revitalization efforts through the opening of his first Sammy’s Rockin’ Island Bar & Grill. Following the presentation, Hagar and the Wabos rocked out before a sold-out crowd on the indoor stage, performing hits including “I Can’t Drive 55,” “One Way to Rock,” “Why Can’t This Be Love,” and “Finish What Ya Started” as hundreds more partied along to the concert, broadcast onto a massive outdoor screen.

Remarking on the draw of bringing his first Sammy’s Rockin’ Island Bar & Grill to downtown Roseville, Hagar said, “This is the old part of the city. It’s got history. It’s got soul. When the city’s done with its revitalization plans, they intend for this area to be the town’s living room. Well, then I got the ISLAND! This is for all the Redheads – we actually got our own island to come party on!”

Before even opening its doors, Hagar’s restaurant had already helped raise more than $40,000 for local South Placer Co. charities, including Woodshop Rocks, the local school program which made the electric guitar presented to Hagar as his Key to the City, by auctioning off tickets to Hagar’s concert and events.

Birthday Bash Ticket Question Answers

Hi Redheads — we’ve received a number of questions and want to do a quick answer to a few of them.

1) Yes, it is true that, like previous years, tickets are NON-TRANSFERABLE and you must show ID to receive your wristbands when you check in the day of the show you have tickets for.

2) We are going to make a one-time offer for people who have purchased tickets but have discovered they CAN NOT GO to be able to get a refund. After we have received those tickets back we will do another drawing to randomly select new winners for those tickets. This will avoid tickets going unused and put them back into the hands of Redheads in need! More details on this will be coming very soon and we will email ticket holders with details.

3) For a number of logistical reasons, there will not be any free tickets given for people who have their birthday on show dates this year.

4) Like last year, we are working to put together a webcast of one (or more) nights so Redheads far and wide can still be part of the party! Keep your eyes on Sammy’s Facebook/Twitter/G+ pages as it may happen last minute based on how the Internet connection down in Cabo cooperates!
