Marco and Jorge rolled out the red carpet for Sammy’s surprise performance at the Cantina down in Cabo this weekend! The carpet was there Saturday night for a Mexican soap star party held at the Cabo Wabo but when Sammy decided to come in and do a surprise show with the house band Cabo Uno Sunday night, they left it up! Fans were surprised and the party was strong and went late. Sammy said afterward “I love this stuff, this is what the cantina is all about!”

What a weekend in New Orleans with Emeril and his foundation raising money for kids!

Couldn’t be prouder — for the 7th year in a row, the Birthday Bash weekend with me and Emeril brought in the highest bidders for the Carnival du Vin auction! We’ve raised more than $1 million with this package already. Watch out for next year’s auction – we’re going to reinvent it! Emeril’s foundation does incredible work and it’s always an honor and a blast to be part of it.

Great to see old friends (see photos of Tyler and Mario), plus new, including Janee Taylor who has become a rising star in Emeril’s kitchen through her summer internship (makes me proud to provide her scholarship through The Hagar Family Foundation). Based on what I tasted you’ll all know her cooking soon. Good stuff !

The Beach Bar Rum was also out in force and Emeril spread SBBR tents throughout the casual Boudin & Beer and the black tie Carnival du Vin events. Emeril & chef Chris also came up with some killer rum cocktails that I hope to share with you soon.

Sammy is going to join Meat Loaf in celebrating the 35th anniversary of “Bat Out of Hell” (which has sold over 43 million copies!) tonight at the State Theatre in Cleveland, OH!

Do you remember Meat Loaf’s 1995 release “Welcome to the Neighborhood”? It included the track “Amnesty is Granted” which Sammy wrote and performed with him.

This show is going to be a wild celebration and will also raise money for the Steve Popovich Legacy Foundation and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Museum education program.

Had a great time the other night celebrating Bob Weir’s 65th bday down at the Sweetwater with friends and family. Happy birthday, Bob!
