EVENT / CONCERT - SAMMY HAGAR & THE WABOS
Aug 27, 1999

Meadowbrook U.S. Cellular Pavilion

Gilford, New Hampshire

The Red Voodoo Tour

A little rain, a little mud. Who cares? Not Sammy fans!! Sammy and
crew step on at eight with a little acoustic Cabo. And rock 5000 faithful
fans. This show was great by all means. It contained less of the Waborita
tequila- medicine show hype than the Hampton Beach show. Just Sammy, the
Waboritas and his fans. And Sammy loves his fans!! He truly does!!
He’s the peoples rocker. No phoney*@#! He was signing every thing
from $100 dollar bills tossed by trusting fans to bras and hats. Also in
attendance on the back tiers was Barry Goudreau ( former guitar player
with BOSTON), who soloed with the band when Sammy handed over his guitar
during Marching to Mars. Also some high school pals of Sammies- having a
great time with their rockin buddy.

The set list contained great
classics such as Rock Candy,Top of The World, Heavy Metal, Little White
Lie,Right on Right, Red and Whole lotta Love, which he’s been playing
around with since the early eighties. Victor Johnson kicked as well as
the rest of the band. The audience where long time and newcomers to the
redrocker experience.To sum it up–Sammy is a straight-out rock
and roll show, no explosions, no spandex, no depressing lyrics that
make you want to hack your family to death — all fun, all party , all
rock and roll. WAITRESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
